Former Arsenal and England striker Ian Wright has been drinking the Newcastle United kool-aid this week.
Ian Wright has taken aim at the 'disrespectful' Alexander Isak transfer rumours and has now turned his attention to dishing out high praise for one of Newcastle's key men.
Given how much I've written about him this week we could change the name of this site to sandrotonalifeed.com but I'm not done yet.
Once again speaking on the Kelly and Wrighty Show, Wright has been singing the praises of Sandro Tonali.
That clip above should tell you everything about just how good Sandro Tonali is, but Ian Wright has tried to put it into words.
“Yeah, when you look at like Tonali coming in, we didn’t see him how we’re seeing him now. I didn’t realise, he’s 24, I didn’t realise he was this good as good as he is, his defensive work, his energy up and down, him and Bruno.
If you can add like a Declan Rice kind of energy to that with them two, you can see that alongside someone like Isak, it’s somewhere you would want to go to. I thought Tonali was outstanding.”
Someone like Declan Rice would change the dynamic for Newcastle, possibly for the better, but the current trio of Tonali, Bruno and Joelinton is working just fine for us.
Many pundits have claimed it to be the best midfield trio in the Premier League, and you certainly won't hear any arguments from us on that front.
The three have managed to work up an almost telepathic understanding and they gel together so well. It seems like so long ago that we were questioning whether Tonali and Bruno could ever play together. It's crazy to think that was ever a question now.
