Allan Saint-Maximin became the first, and so far only, Newcastle United player to head to a PIF-owned Saudi club last year.

The tricky winger signed for Al-Ahli for around £25million last summer in a move that divided the Newcastle fanbase.

Saint-Maximin had amassed a cult-like following due to his amazing tricks with the ball, his social media activity and fan interactions, while another portion of the fans saw beyond all the flashiness and saw an average footballer with little end product.

That being said, even those who saw through it all, like myself, still had a lot of affection for the man and the fact that he still interacts with Newcastle fans online is a touch of class.

How will Mourinho and Saint-Maximin get on?

Allan Saint-Maximin looks set to move to Turkey

Despite only moving to Saudi Arabia a year ago, it looks like the 27-year-old could be on the move again and set to link up with Jose Mourinho.

The Daily Mail are reporting that the former Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham boss has his sights set on Allan Saint-Maximin and a deal is in place to bring him to Turkish club Fenerbahce.

Had anyone else completely forgotten that Mourinho had gone to Fenerbahce by the way? Mental.

Saint-Maximin and Mourinho: An unstoppable force meets an immovable object

Fenerbahce under Jose Mourinho could be a brilliant move for Saint-Maximin as they try to knock Galatasaray off the top spot in the Turkish Super Lig after back-to-back wins.

However, both Maxi and Mourinho are big personalities, and Maxi is a bit of a maverick who tends to want to do his own thing when he's out on the pitch, so there could be some huge clashes to come.

It could be interesting to keep an eye on this one to see how it all pans out.
