Miguel Almiron looks destined to leave Newcastle United this month leaving a gaping hole in the squad at right-wing.

Jacob Murphy recently had a purple patch playing out wide and as a result, calmed fears that we need a new winger ASAP, but with Miggy departing, that leaves Murphy with no backup and Eddie Howe with no option to change things should Murphy's form dip.

Given how little Almiron has played this season, it's perhaps not that huge of a deal, but there is also the fact that we've seen Murphy have a run of form like this before, and it always ends up with him reverting back to type at some point, so a better option is still very much a necessity.

It's really just a case of whether or not the club can wait until the summer to plug the gap.

Semih Kilicsoy is back on Newcastle's radar

Newcastle have previously looked at 19-year-old Turkish sensation Semih Kilicsoy who, while primarily a left-winger, can play on the right or through the middle.

With just two goals and six assists in 28 outings for Besiktas this season, his numbers aren't staggering, but he is said to have bags of potential and would be first-team ready should Newcastle take the plunge.

Now, The Chronicle claims that Besiktas could be looking to cash in on the four-times capped international and that Newcastle have been contacted over a £16 million move.

Back when Newcastle were last linked with Kilicsoy, the fee was quoted as being £22 million, so the fee reduction could be tempting for the Magpies.

The report suggests that Newcastle are in talks over the possibility and it's Kilicsoy himself who has put a move to Newcastle on his wishlist, but as yet, there have been no positive bites at the £16 million offer.

Other Premier League clubs have held an interest in Kilicsoy, but it does sound like Newcastle holds the advantage, with the player fancying a move to Tyneside.

Newcastle may try to negotiate and bring in Kilicsoy in January, but we suspect that it's more likely we will wait until the summer before spending any significant sum of money.
