Newcastle United are counted amongst a host of clubs looking to sign Beskitas' 18-year-old forward Semih Kilicsoy this summer.

Finishing this season with 12 goals and three assists in 35 outings in all competitions for Besiktas, Semih Kilicsoy has caught the eye of several big clubs and as a result, the Turkish outfit have slapped a £22million price tag on the forward.

Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester City, Real Madrid, PSG, Monaco, Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich have all expressed an interest with Man City and Arsenal reportedly leading the way according to HITC.

Newcastle are trying to find players at the top end of the market these days, but that unfortunately means we're competing with the likes of the aforementioned clubs when trying to sign players which can be tricky.

Semih Kilicsoy is highly in demand

Kilicsoy's versatility is perfect for Newcastle

Kilicsoy has played right across the front line for Besiktas this season showing the type of versatility that Eddie Howe is desperate for this summer.

Former Galatasaray 'keeper Ahmet Bulut spoke to Sporx about Semih Kilicsoy, and was full of praise for the youngster.

”Semih Kilicsoy is Turkey’s rising star. He is a very dynamic, talented striker who can use both feet very well. Stylistically, he resembles the legendary striker Gerd Muller from our time.”

He has compared himself to Sergio Aguero

Last summer Newcastle were beaten to the punch by Real Madrid for another Turkish wonderkid, Arda Guler and it looks like history could repeat itself this summer, albeit with a different team beating us to this player.

While Kilicsoy is happy to remain at Besiktas he has said in a recent interview with Fotospor that he feels he would be suited to the Premier League, even going as far as to compare himself to Sergio Aguero.

Clearly he's not short of self-belief. I love that we are constantly being linked to these impressive youngsters and being mentioned in the same breath as the likes of Man City and Real Madrid. Hopefully, it won't be long before we are actually competing with them for players signatures rather than being an also-ran. It will happen.
