Newcastle United have several players on their wish list that they believe could strengthen the attack down the right flank, but so far every player that has been linked has been expected to cost a pretty penny.
One player Newcastle have had their eye on who they were hoping may be a cheaper alternative to the likes of Antoine Semenyo and Bryan Mbeumo was Southampton's promising youngster Tyler Dibling.
The 18-year-old has become a regular starter for Southampton this season and has impressed so much that there are now a host of clubs queuing up at Russell Martin's door to enquire about him.
However, the better he does at Southampton, the more defiant the Saints are likely to be when it comes to batting away offers.
Manchester United, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United have all expressed an interest in Dibling along with Newcastle.
Chelsea even signed Dibling a few years ago but homesickness cut that move short and he returned to Southampton.
Now a bit older and more mature it seems Chelsea are ready to try again along with Newcastle according to The Chronicle.
However, despite the stature of the clubs looking at Dibling, Russell Martin has sent a very defiant message this morning in his pre-match press conference.
“I was told some rumours about Man Utd, one was a bid of £21m, I’m not sure you’ll get his left foot for that.”
It looks like we can probably add Dibling alongside Semenyo and Mbeumo as players who are likely to be out of our reach in January.
