Last January Newcastle United lost out to Chelsea in a bid for Brazilian teenager Andrey Santos from Vasco de Gama.

The 19-year-old had a place on the NXGN 50 best wonderkids and Newcastle had been keeping tabs on him for a couple of months before Chelsea swooped in and scooped up the youngster.

Due to work permit issues, Santos had to see out the season with Vasco before linking up with Chelsea in the summer and then once again being sent out on loan, this time to Nottingham Forest.

Andrey Santos hasn't exactly broken into the Forest first team

The defensive midfielder has made just one outing in the Premier League totalling a whopping seven minutes and is now likely to be recalled by Chelsea as there's no point in a player being out on loan if they aren't playing.

Lewis Hall's future at Newcastle is a hot topic of debate right now

It's now being reported by transfer journalist Ben Jacobs who was writing for Si Phillips Talks Chelsea, that Newcastle have enquired as to Santos' availablity should they recall the youngster this month.

If you're paying attention at home you'll notice there's a big problem here. It's unlikely that Chelsea will want to sell their huge prospect so if he's to move anywhere it will have to be on loan and Newcastle already have one player on loan from Chelsea - Lewis Hall.

We don't have much faith in this story

Clubs aren't allowed more than one player from one club on loan which means that this story is either a complete fabrication or Lewis Hall's time at Newcastle is about to come to a very abrupt end.

Either scenario is entirely plausible right now as the Hall situation is just one big mystery.

For us though, bringing in a 19-year-old who can't break into the Forest side to be the answer to our defensive midfield issue doesn't make any sense, so we're going with this one being a fabrication.
