We may have a new leader in the laughable transfer stories league after this report from Italy surfaced this morning.

NUFCFEED likes to bring you factual, reliable reports to keep you well-informed, but we also enjoy bringing you the ridiculous stories that people write about our beloved Newcastle United, just so we can poke holes in their logic and give us all a bit of a chuckle.

Departures for Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak are so common nowadays they're like water off a duck's back, but we'll still keep pointing them out if anyone comes up with a new angle on it.

Much like this latest report from InterLive.it that gave us a bit of a chuckle this morning.

Gordon has been linked to a move to Liverpool

Anthony Gordon has had a phenomenal first full season at Newcastle and was rightly crowned our Player of the Year. After the game against Manchester United on Wednesday, which proved to be his last appearance of the season, Gordon talked about how much he loves it at Newcastle and the joy it brings him just driving past St James' Park.

That didn't seem to quell the reports of a potential move to Liverpool in some journalist's eyes, however, but InterLIve have managed to top even that by claiming that Anthony Gordon's agent have offered Inter Milan the chance to sign Gordon this summer.

So it's not even Inter Milan making the approach, it's Gordon's agent actively looking for a new club for Anthony "I've never been so happy" Gordon.

This story makes zero sense

Yeah, nah, this one is total faecal matter. A club wanting to sign him we can understand, but his agent actively shopping him around to other clubs? We're not buying it.

The fact that the story originated from what is essentially an Inter Milan fan site is all the proof you should need, but Sport Witness actually picked it up and therefore it will gain traction, so we thought it best to get ahead of it and point out the glaringly obvious flaws, because that's what we do.

For a more wholesome, and indeed, true, Anthony Gordon story, check out what he did yesterday while his teammates were battering Brentford.
