Eddie Howe is in the market for a new goalkeeper or two as Newcastle United are set to undergo a huge change in the 'keeper department.

Loris Karius is confirmed to be leaving the club and Martin Dubravka is been widely tipped to follow which leaves Eddie Howe with a couple of big gaps to fill.

Depending on which way the wind is blowing it's either Aaron Ramsdale of Arsenal or Valencia's Giorgi Marmadashvili who is the first-choice to replace Dubravka while James Trafford's name has also been mentioned after facing relegation with Burnley.

One thing the deals for Ramsdale and Mamardashvili have in common is that the Magpies seem to be put off by their respective asking prices.

€40m or no move for Mamardashvili

Valencia owner Peter Lim will not be moved on his asking price for Mamarda

While no price has been set per se for Ramsdale, Valencia have a figure in mind for Mamardashvili and they will not be moved on it according to a report from Spanish outlet Marca.

Valencia's owner Peter Lim has slapped a non-negotiable €40million (£34million) price tag on Mamardashvili, and while he's open to losing the Georgia international, he won't be moved on the price.

Lim has stated that the price is set and he has no intention of lowering it, confident that he will get what he's worth if anyone is serious about signing the 23-year-old.

Newcastle could yet find themselves needing two goalkeepers

As it stands, Newcastle are refusing to pay up and are still assessing their options with Ramsdale and Trafford still in play.

If Dubravka does leave, however, that will mean Newcastle will have to bring in two 'keepers this summer, which could change things dramatically.

It looks like this goalkeeper dilemma is one that could chug along for a few weeks yet despite Eddie Howe hoping to get things tied up quickly.
