Newcastle United Women have announced that manager Becky Langley has signed a new deal at the club.

After back-to-back promotions and being the driving force behind Newcastle United Women's success after Amanda Staveley made the club a professional outfit, Becky Langley has been rewarded with a new long-term contract at the club.

The club announced the signing via X with a picture of new sporting director Paul Mitchell shaking hands with Langley. It's about time we saw him with a signing after failing to deliver for the men's team this summer.

Newcastle United Women are about to embark on a massive season in the Championship with the Women's Super League in their sights.

Their season starts on Sunday as they take on London City Lionesses at 2pm.

Speaking after signing her new deal, Langley told the official website that she is 'delighted' to have committed her future to the club.

"I am delighted to sign a new contract and to keep pursuing my goals at Newcastle United Football Club.

"After speaking with Paul Mitchell (Sporting Director, NUFC) and Su Cumming (Head of Women’s Football, NUFC) about the ambitions for the team and club, it just made my enthusiasm even greater for this exciting project.
