There are plenty of positives to pick from Newcastle United's defeat to Borussia Dortmund last night.

Newcastle may have lost but it wasn't all bad news for the Magpies despite the result and at-times toothless display.

Tino Livramento once again showed that he is a superstar in the making with another fine performance. He was played as a winger in the first half and did okay, but was moved back to right-back in the second half and he burst into life, becoming a danger to Dortmund and should have had an assist to his name but Joelinton couldn't direct his header goalward.

Lewis Miley is back in first-team contention

Another piece of good news was seeing Lewis Miley back on the pitch after a bout of glandular fever. The 17-year-old made his Champions League debut in a brief cameo, but he didn't look out of place on the highest stage.

Miley took to X and Instagram to share his disappointment at the result but also his pride at representing his boyhood club at Champions League level.

"Not the result we wanted last night, support was top as always. On a personal note it was a proud moment for me and my family, making my Champions League debut."

Paul Dummett showed his support for Miley on Instagram

Commenting under his Instagram post were a few familiar names from Newcastle's youth set-up and one from the past in Bobby Clark who is now at Liverpool.

Also in the comments was veteran Newcastle player Paul Dummett who offered up his support with three clapping emojis. A nice touch from a player who knows what it means to represent Newcastle United as a fan.

We are buzzing that Miley is back in first-team contention as we've got every belief that he will go on to become a massive player for us in the future.
