Alexander Isak is pulling double duties in the monthly awards for December picking up a Goal of the Month nomination to go along with his Player of the Month nod.

Eddie Howe is also up for Manager of the Month, meaning Newcastle United are very well represented in almost every category for December's monthly awards. There's no representation for Save of the Month, but Martin Dubravka has hardly had any saves to make in December.

Jacob Murphy joined Alexander Isak in the Player of the Month category which makes up for not having a Save of the Month nominee at least.

With Newcastle scoring for fun in December it makes sense that at least one of our goals would be in the mix for Goal of the Month.

Cast your vote for Alexander Isak's goal against Liverpool

The one that has been selected is Alexander Isak's rocket shot against Liverpool in the 3-3 draw right at the start of the month.

You can vote for Alexander Isak by following this link. He goes up against some tough competition, but all the buzz around the Sweden international could carry a bit more weight in this one.

Alexander Isak's screamer into the top corner was really just the icing on the cake of a fine Newcastle United move which saw some intelligent play by Lewis Hall who passed the ball to Bruno Guimaraes who turned his man inside out before laying on a sumptuous through ball for Isak to lash home.

Newcastle's nominations show how well the team did in December

It's a shame that the public vote only makes up a portion of the scoring for the eventual winner as we're sure that a concerted effort by our fans would see our boys walk every category.

As it is, though, to have nominations in every category shows just how good a month December was for Newcastle.

Here's hoping it continues throughout January ... and February ... and March ... and April.

And May.
