Troy Deeney must be hating his life right now, he clearly has something against Newcastle United but he keeps having to pick our lads in his Team of the Week.

We are loving the fact that Troy Deeney is having to write positive things about our lads because the former Watford striker definitely seems to have something against our beloved club, and indeed our region.

Of course, this being Deeney, he does manage to take a swipe even when he's selecting our lads and this week is no different.

Deeney picked another three Newcastle players for his Team of the Week for the BBC after the demolition of Manchester United at Old Trafford on Monday.

Newcastle United were heavily represented in Troy Deeney's TotW

Martin Dubravka, who has kept four clean sheets in a row now, has made the grade despite not really having anything to do in recent games, as does Fabian Schar and Joelinton. Here's what Deeney had to say about them, and then we'll discuss.

"Martin Dubravka (Newcastle): He's done well since he stepped in and against Manchester United, even though they dominated, he was excellent with his feet, setting off the attacks. I thought he had a really solid performance and it's not something that I have said about him over the years."
"Fabian Schar (Newcastle) and Jacob Greaves (Ipswich Town): I thought both of them were solid, made really good tackles when they needed to. A lot of the work was done in front of them but any work they were called upon to do, they did really well. They were solid in the tackle, they're not both known for being good footballers but were neat and tidy and did everything you want from a centre-half."
"Joelinton (Newcastle): We had him in last week, back-to-back weeks now. I just keep thinking how did anyone think he was a number nine? This guy is a monster. He runs over people. That ball got put in the box and there was no chance little Lisandro Martinez from Manchester United was getting that. Arm across him, get out the way, goal. I thought it was a big powerful display."

Has Troy Deeney ever watched Fabian Schar before?

We can't really fault what he said about M-Dubz to be fair. He barely had any saves to make but there was no sense of sheer panic when the ball was played back to his feet like we'd get if Nick Pope was there.

Lumping two players into one write-up is a habit of Deeney's because why earn your money? It's trying to claim that Fabian Schar isn't 'known for being a good footballer' that really winds us up here. So, those long, pin-point passes he plays out from the back and the stunning goals he scores mean nothing, do they not?

Again, what he said about Joelinton is bang on, and we absolutely agree that whoever signed him as a number nine needs to sit in a dark room and think about what they've done, but as we said last week - we can say that, Deeney hasn't earned the right.
