Newcastle United need to add more firepower up front with Alexander Isak shouldering the full burden of being the side's striker.

Callum Wilson can't be trusted to be fit to back up the Sweden striker, as evidenced by the fact that the former England striker has played less than an hour of football this season.

Meanwhile, Will Osula is clearly being developed to be one for the future, with Eddie Howe reluctant to use him too often.

A first-team striker is a high priority for Newcastle this summer, for sure, but the club would also do well to find another youngster to develop alongside Osula.

Orri Oskarrson looks like the ideal signing for Newcastle United

Orri Oskarsson has been seen as an ideal signing for Newcastle United

The Daily Mail have compiled a list of the top Scandinavian wonderkids and suggested which clubs would benefit from signing them. Newcastle appear a couple of times on the list alongside players we've been linked with previously plus a couple of new ones. One of which is Orri Oskarsson who currently plays for Real Sociedad after progressing through the FC Copenhagen academy.

Oskarsson made his senior debut in his native Iceland at just 13 years old and scored twice on his debut. It's no wonder he was rated more highly than his FC Copenhagen teammate Rasmus Hoijland who ultimately went to Manchester United for £72 million. Real Sociedad paid just £17 million for Oskarsson last summer. We know who we think is the winner there.

The Daily Mail said of 20-year-old Oskarsson that despite a slow start in Spain, his qualities are clear to see with his athleticism and intelligence making him look like the ultimate number 9.

Newcastle have been looking to Scandinavia for talent

Newcastle, Arsenal and Manchester City were the Daily Mail's picks for potential landing spots for Oskarsson which shows how highly he is rated.

Obviously, this is just the opinion of the writer, Tom Collomosse, and there is no link between Newcastle and Oskarsson as yet, but we'd be amazed if Paul Mitchell's army of scouts aren't already aware of him.

Newcastle have been looking to Scandinavia for young prospects lately having been linked with Hakon Arnar Haraldsson just the other day, while also being linked with Sindre Walle Egeli earlier in the season.
