Newcastle United could be active in the transfer market in January with a number of reported targets.

The Magpies are looking to forget their poor summer window by being active in the January transfer window.

Recent reports have linked Antoine Semenyo and Bryan Mbuemo to Newcastle but their fees mean they may have to sell before they buy.

Newcastle are also keen to continue their youth recruitment drive having signed the likes of Alfie Harrison and Rory Finneran in the last year.

Newcastle United could land Argentine Kevin Zenon in January

According to L'Interista Newcastle are linked with a move for Boca Juniors' winger Kevin Zenon.

The report suggests that Inter Milan are also keen on signing Zenon with interest throughout the Premier League growing.

Clubs like Tottenham, Brighton and Lyon are also said to be interested in the 23-year-old but Newcastle are thought to be in pole position to land Zenon.

Zenon has made 17 appearances in the Liga Profesional in 2024 scoring twice and bagging one assist.

Despite being favourites, Zenon is a left winger a position in which Newcastle have a lot of depth at the moment thanks to Anthony Gordon and Harvey Barnes.

Should they wish to sign him, it would cost a fee of around £17million.

Are Newcastle United interested in making more signings in January?

Since the takeover in 2021, Newcastle have been linked with hundreds of different players from the world-class to the biggest flops.

Recently, Newcastle were linked with MLS Cup winner Gabriel Pec who has been a fantastic addition to their squad.

He would be a much cheaper option at right wing should they fail to land Semenyo or Mbuemo. He would be available for a fee of around £20m but that fee comes with the guarantee of goals.

The 23-year-old was involved in 39 goals including netting 16 times in the 2024 MLS season.
