Newcastle United have posted another impressive set of accounts for the year ending June 2024 which has seen some huge growth areas for the club's revenue.

The commercial revenue for the club increased 90% this year, which is absolutely massive growth, especially when you consider that the club still doesn't have sponsors for the stadium, training ground or training kit.

It's even more impressive when you factor in that the accounts cut off before the start of the deal with Adidas, which also sees retail come back into the club, suggesting that next year will see another massive increase.

The partnerships that the club have put in place since the takeover have dwarfed anything the club had done before.

St James' STACK has been a huge success

St James' STACK and the partnership with Adidas haven't factored in this years accounts

As Darren Eales has now explained to the media (via The Chronicle), bringing the retail side of the business back in house, combined with the revenue generated by St James' STACK, there's still a lot more to come.

"The good news is you have seen the growth we've had consistently year on year. That continues to develop. So for this season, not in these accounts, we have stood up our own retail department. We had no retail before as it was all outsourced to Castore.

"We are now with Adidas, and we have our own channels. We have the STACK as well. We have sponsorships coming in, and it is all growing. The point is we have to go from cycle to cycle. The first thing is, to go back to the basics of PSR rules. You are allowed to lose £105m allowable losses over a three-year rolling basis.

"That's the sort of background that we have to deal with in terms of complying with PSR. We have been clear on this, ownership has committed to spending to the maximum amount we can within the rules.

"If the rules weren't there we'd spend more. Because we are an ambitious ownership group that is looking to drive Newcastle to be sustainable and competing for trophies. Ultimately we want to be winning the Premier League - but we have to do it within the constraints of what we have. We are already committed to £105m of losses over a rolling three-year period. That's the first thing."

The development/replacement of St James' Park will be a huge money spinner in years to come

We are still waiting to find out what is going to happen with St James' Park, whether that will be developed or replaced, both options will drastically increase revenues in years to come.

In the meantime, the club is (or at least they should be) looking for a partner to sponsor St James' Park as well as the training kit and training ground, all of which would dramatically open up more PSR headroom.

Sometimes we just need to hear from the club to assure us that the desire is still there. It has been too silent lately from the hierarchy, but being given these reassurances helps to calm the fanbase.
