Newcastle United continue to sign players for the future with Manchester City's Alfie Harrison en-route and now it looks like they could land another teenager this month too.
A report from Fanatik has claimed that Newcastle will now sign 18-year-old midfielder Can Uzun from Nurnberg this winter.
Newcastle will be challenged by Brighton, Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt for the youngster's signature who will cost around £8.5million.
It's another positive step by the club but fans will still be wondering where the first-team additions are.
Uzun has been in inspired form in the Bundesliga 2 this season, scoring eight goals in 12 starts this season - stats that sound very similar to the aforementioned Alfie Harrison.
If Newcastle can pull these moves off then we'd certainly be set for talented goalscoring midfielders in the future.
A midfield trio of Lewis Miley, Alfie Harrison and Can Uzun in a few years time sounds pretty good to us based on what we've heard about these youngsters.
Obviously, this does nothing to offset the current anxiety levels around the fanbase as the transfer window starts to close around us with no sign of any incomings, but plenty of talk of big names leaving.
Do we need a match to distract us or will that just make things worse?
