Newcastle United are gearing up to take on Arsenal on Tuesday night in the Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg which will be live on Sky Sports+ with an 8pm Kick-off.
The Magpies had to overcome Brentford at St James' Park to book their spot in the semi-final draw, and that fixture came just over a week after Brentford beat Newcastle 4-2 in the Premier League at the G-tech Community Stadium.
It was Newcastle's Italian maestro, Sandro Tonali who carried Newcastle to victory in that Carabao Cup clash as he netted two goals in the 3-1 win.
Both goals were absolutely glorious with a low-driven shot followed up by a clever side-foot volley.
Tonali's efforts have now earned him the Player of the Round accolade as if there was ever a doubt that there was anyone more worthy of the award.
He also picked up Goal of the Round, but the big question is, which of his sumptuous hits grabbed the gold?
It was the opening goal. The 20-yard drive which flew through a sea of bodies and curled away from the 'keeper to nestle into the bottom corner.
That was the pick of the two for me, while the second one looked incredible with him hitting a side-foot volley while in mid-air, the reality is it was a deflection off the back of a defender that took it into the goal.
Nothing was getting in the way of that spectacular drive from the edge of the area.
Here's hoping that Tonali can have another big contribution tomorrow night at Arsenal.
