Eddie Howe has previously spoken about how his Newcastle United side aren't here to be popular, they're here to win, and that bullishness still drives the side today.
Newcastle have often been criticised for the way they go about things. The whole 'dark arts' debate of two seasons ago still lingers in the memory.
Just because Newcastle played right on the edge of the rules to manage games, other teams who weren't clever or good enough to do the same hated us for it.
The bottom line is, though, Newcastle never did anything wrong and soon after everyone was at it. We were pioneers.
Now that Newcastle are on a winning streak, opposition managers are starting to lose their heads again. Unai Emery was fuming after his side capitulated to Newcastle on Boxing Day.
Although, Ange Postecoglou was the prime example on Saturday, strongly hinting that the referee was biased towards Newcastle, even though we were the side with the player with the broken nose and no penalty to show for it.
Eddie Howe was asked in his press conference this morning if, after Unai Emery's boxing day breakdown and Ange's meltdown on Saturday, Newcastle are 'ruffling feathers' again, Eddie Howe said he doesn't care.
Eddie Howe says it's all about Newcastle United, nobody else matters
Howe's response that it's all about Newcastle and he doesn't care what anyone else thinks is exactly what we love to hear from our gaffer.
“We are here to try to win and ultimately that’s all we are driven for.
“The popular stuff, I don’t really care what happens outside of Newcastle. The perception other teams have of us, it doesn’t really worry me. It’s all about us making sure we are happy with who we are and how we are performing.”
