Amanda Staveley may not be part of the Newcastle United board anymore but she still has a strong connection with the club.

When Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi announced their sudden departure from Newcastle United it came as huge shock to fans.

Even those who were aware that the plan was always for the husband and wife team to hand over the reins once everything was in place were taken aback by how suddenly it all happened.

Despite talk that Staveley is now looking to buy into Tottenham Hotspur, there's no doubt that Wor Mandy is a Mag. Her time at Newcastle has changed her forever.

Amanda Staveley says she is missing everyone at the club

But if proof were needed, then look no further than Mandy's Instagram this morning where she has posted an image of Anthony Gordon, Joelinton and Tino Livramento at St James' Park kicking balls into some unsuspecting Magpies and showering the pitch with leaves feathers.

Her touching post wishing Eddie Howe and the lads luck today was the icing on the cake.

"Wishing Eddie and the lads the best of luck for today and the season ahead. Missing everyone hugely but I will enjoy cheering the team on as a fan and can’t wait to see the Club as a whole thrive. I’m so proud of everyone and know the boys will bring it home this season #howaythelads"

Amanda Staveley left the club in safe hands

We're absolutely convinced we'll see Amanda and Mehrdad in the stands this season at least once. Maybe not today, but it'll happen.

The next phase of the project is underway, and let's be honest, it hasn't been without its challenges, but Amanda left us in a good spot with some of the best people in their respective fields now at the club.

The only way is up.
