Eddie Howe is still waiting for his new right winger to arrive at Newcastle United as the recruitment team drag their heels through the summer transfer window.

Newcastle made it through the entirety of July without making a single first-team addition, and now that we are in August, we really don't have long until the new Premier League season is underway.

It's a tough time for Newcastle fans who thought that by now we'd have had a few additions to get excited about.

Despite Jacob Murphy's superb form in pre-season friendlies, the need for a new attacking player to maraud down the right wing is huge and as such, Newcastle have been linked with plenty of players in that department.

Wolves could sell Pedro Neto

Wolves are prepared to sell Pedro Neto this summer

We are still waiting for anything resembling a breakthrough on that front, but today there was a glimmer of hope offered on one target.

Wolverhampton Wanderers boss, Gary O'Neil has said that the club could sell Pedro Neto this summer telling the Express and Star:

“If a huge offer comes from a big club, no one will stand in Pedro’s way.”

Pedro Neto wouldn't be our first choice but we can't be fussy rightnow

It is strongly suggested that £60 million would be enough to get things rolling, however, Newcastle would face competition from Liverpool who also have their eye on the Portuguese winger.

Newcastle have long been admirers of Neto, but he's not someone that's really got my heart rate going, purely because of his injury record. While not Callum Wilson levels, he still misses a lot of games.

We'll see what happens though. At this point we'd take anyone just to have something to talk about.
