Let's Get Ready To Rhumble!: Ant & Dec confirmed to appear on stage at Newcastle United League Cup event

With festivities to get underway tomorrow - Saturday 29th March - Newcastle United's League Cup celebrations have been very secretive about who, other than the players, fans will be seeing on stage at the Town Moor.

With under 24 hours until the fun kicks off, fans were finally given an insight of what to expect beyond the timings of the event and promises of 'special guests;.

While fans have been keeping their fingers crossed that Newcastle-mad Sam Fender will make an appearance at the event, those rumours have been heavily downplayed.

Now, as the club have announced their 'special guests', the fact that Sela will deliver a 'surprise' at the end of the evening, there's still hope that Fender has changed his mind and will appear.

Ant & Dec will take to the stage in their hometown tomorrow

It's probably a good idea not to get your hopes up about Sam Fender, but if you're a fan of light entertainment, cheeky banter and tiny people, then you're in luck as TV favourites and Geordie icons, Ant & Dec will be there.

As well as the iconic Geordie duo (who I really hope aren't singing), well-known Newcastle-supporting sports TV presenters Lynsey Hipgrave and Pete Graves will take to the stage.

Alan Shearer, Les Ferdinand and Bob Moncur make up the 'legends' who will hold a Q&A, while Becky Langley and her lasses will also be there.

We can't wait to see the Sela Surprise

It's a pretty stacked event and is expected to be a huge success and will certainly be well-attended.

Sela's special surprise could literally be anything given they've already put on a stunning drone show in the city as well as a holographic light display on the River Tyne.

We doubt it will be as simple as them calling Sam Fender onto the stage. It's more likely to be some outrageous light display. Whatever it is, we can't wait to see it.
