Jason Tindall offers huge hope as several key players thought to be absent could be involved against Luton

Jason Tindall faced the media this morning ahead of tomorrow's Premier League clash with Luton Town.

Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe is feeling under the weather so he despatched Mad Dog Tindall to the press room to talk all things Newcastle and Eddie's right-hand man wasted no time and offering up a huge slice of hope for the fans.

The light at the end of the tunnel is starting to shine a bit brighter when it comes to all of the injuries Newcastle have had to deal with this season with Tindall hopefully hinting that several players could be involved tomorrow who we'd previously assumed would be nowhere near.

Alexander Isak is already in contention for a place in the squad

One big surprise is that Alexander Isak, after hobbling off in the game against Aston Villa with a groin issue, is in contention to be in the squad.

As is Callum Wilson who was already thought to be 50/50, but if both are available that means they could just play a half each, neither has to try and do a full 90 minutes and Newcastle get to have a striker on the field at all times.

Even more exciting is that Joe Willock and Harvey Barnes are both in contention for a return, too as Tindall explains (via The Chronicle).

"There's a potential. A couple of lads are getting closer. We've got another session today so we'll assess today. It's certainly getting a better than it was a few weeks ago.

"Barnes, Wilson, Willock are pretty close. Whether they'll be fit enough for tomorrow, we'll have to make that decision between now and the game.

"Harvey is a little bit ahead of Joe. We'll have to make the right call as to whether he include them."

Whether or not we see them in action tomorrow remains to be seen, but knowing that both are so close to a return that they are even being considered is absolutely huge.

Having Willock and Barnes back is massive

Newcastle are really lacking numbers in the middle of the park so a return for Joe Willock can't come soon enough in all honesty, especially with the spotty form of Sean Longstaff lately. Sorry, Sean.

Harvey Barnes got off to a flying start at Newcastle before his toe fell off or whatever it was that happened to it. He was looking like a bargain until then, so hopefully he can pick up where he left off once he gets his match sharpness back.
