Newcastle United's stars have been oddly overlooked for many awards this season, particularly Anthony Gordon who has been outstanding all season.

Now, though, fans have the opportunity to right that wrong as five of our players have been shortlisted in the Premier League Fan Team of the Season.

You can choose your XI from 60 players and submit your vote here.

I'm not going to lie, I went a little bit biased with my votes, but if you give me Newcastle players to choose from, I'm going to pick them.

It's a popularity contest so it will be interesting to see how we do

The five players in question are Kieran Trippier, Fabian Schar, Bruno Guimaraes, Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak.

Again, it could be the bias talking but the latter three should find their way into many people's selections, the other two may be a harder sell for those who don't spend their time following Newcastle.

Kieran Trippier missed a lot of football towards the end of the campaign, and he had that horrendous spell in December, but he absolutely bossed it in terms of assists and stood out from his peers in that regard.

Alexander Isak should be in everyone's team

Fabian Schar, considering he was left out in the wilderness under Steve Bruce, became one of the first names on the team sheet this season. Solid at the back and a danger going forward, his long-ranging passes from back to front unlocked many a defence.

That's all before we even talk about his regenerative ability to seemingly always be fit after picking up an injury.

Alexander Isak hit 21 Premier League goals, his goals per minute is unmatched in the Premier League, only Erling Haaland and Cole Palmer hit more, and the latter is in a different category to Isak.

Anthony Gordon was oddly overlooked by the Premier League Rising Stars videos, but he makes it here for selection and should be a no-brainer.

Bruno Guimaraes is adored by fans of rival teams as well as Newcastle and could therefore easily find himself in the final team.

Don't forget to get your votes in.
