It wasn't all doom and gloom in Eddie Howe's presser after confirming the Fabian Schar news, in fact you could say that the good news outweighed the bad.

Newcastle United are set to go through the rest of the season without Fabian Schar which means he joins his fellow centre-backs, Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles in being unavailable for the rest of the campaign.

However, there was some positive news with several big names back in training this week who could be in contention for a return to the squad tomorrow as Newcastle head to Burnley.

We already saw Miguel Almiron heavily featured in this week's training photos, so we're pretty confident Miggy will be on the bench at least tomorrow.

Newcastle could welcome back three big players tomorrow

However, Eddie Howe also shared that Nick Pope and Joelinton were in full training this week too, and will be assessed today as to whether they will be included tomorrow (via The Chronicle).

"We've had Miggy and Joelinton return to first team training with Nick Pope so it's been a good week to have three senior players. Kieran Trippier lies slightly behind he has been training by himself and will be back next week. He could be involved before the end of the season.

We can't work out what's going on with Trippier

The Kieran Trippier mystery deepens with Howe saying that he could be involved before the end of the season. He's been a week away from returning since March.

We have everything crossed that Nick Pope will be passed fit to play tomorrow, but we're not expecting it to actually happen while we'd be buzzing just to see Joelinton's name on the bench and maybe a 10-15minute cameo.

It's going to be such an intense finish to the season that having these players back could make all the difference.
