Are you sitting comfortably? Then we'll begin. Bruno Guimaraes has kept a diary of his time in Japan with the Newcastle United squad and it is gloriously wholesome.

The diary is posted on Newacstle's official website, it's so full of typical Bruno Guimaraes humble brags and supportive messages of his teammates and the club's staff members that if I weren't so dead inside, I'd weep.

Bruno says that his first day back in training after his post-Copa America break was really tough, saying he almost passed out, and that the first day is always the hardest.

He then went on to reserve special praise for his manager, Eddie Howe who stayed out with him after the session.

The respect Bruno has for Eddie Howe is amazing

When you read what Bruno says about Howe and the club, you wonder how any stories of him leaving get printed. It's so clear he's besotted with Newcastle United.

"Towards the end of the morning session, when I was doing some running, the manager joined me. That shows the man he is. He always gives me good advice and good tips, but to join me in physical work was something you don't expect. When you run with the manager you can't let him down; you have to run more than him, so it was a good challenge for me."

While Bruno sat out the first match in Japan, he was bestowed the captain's armband for the game against Yokohama on Saturday, an honour that was not lost on the Brazilian.

Bruno Guimaraes realised a dream on Saturday

After captaining the side, Bruno took to social media to say that it was a dream come true moment.

"I'm very happy to be starting another season with this club that has done so much for me since my first day here. I'm glad to be back and more prepared than ever to have a brilliant season and to help Newcastle reach the highest possible position! Another dream has come true! Being the captain of this team is everything I've always dreamed of but never imagined! We're in this together, and I'm sure I'll be more dedicated than ever to this badge."

Honestly, when the time comes for Bruno to move on, we're not sure who will be more devastated, the fans or the player himself.
