As Eddie Howe faced the media this morning he no doubt had a solid idea of what many of the questions would be.

Heading into the Sela Weekender, the last couple of friendly fixtures before the Premier League season gets underway next weekend, Howe spoke to the media.

It was as sure as night follows day that Howe would have to field at least one question regarding the uncertain future of Anthony Gordon.

The England winger has been endlessly linked with a move to Liverpool since June 30th when the notion was briefly considered as a way to solve the club's PSR issues.

Reports suggest that Gordon's head has been turned

Since then there has been report after report that Liverpool and Newcastle are in talks over a deal based on nothing more than the tiniest bit of speculation.

Now that Gordon has returned to the club after his extended leave after being with England right up to the Euro 2024 final, we're starting to get more clarity on the situation.

While we haven't heard from the player himself, Eddie Howe has moved to quash the rumours that the 23-year-old's head has been turned by Liverpool.

Eddie Howe insists Gordon is committed to Newcastle

When asked this morning where Gordon's head was at, Howe was brief in his response but said everything he needed to say and all we needed to hear (via The Chronicle).

"His head is where Bruno's is. He's with Newcastle. No distractions. He's been really impressive."

That quote, of course, follows on from Bruno Guimaraes stating his desire to stay at the club earlier in the press briefing.
