Miguel Almiron could be about to leave Newcastle United for Saudi Arabia after a provisional agreement had been reached with Al-Shabab.

Newcastle seem very prepared to move Miguel Almiron on as they look to rebuild the squad after an indifferent first half of the season.

It's a move that makes sense for the club as Almiron could bring in up to £30million if he opts to move to Saudi which will unlock a big wedge of spending power under the current FFP rules.

Newcastle have 'extensively scouted' Morgan Gibbs-White

The issue is that there's just over a week remaining in the transfer window and we would need a replacement through the door for the rest of this season.

It makes sense, then, that Newcastle already have someone in mind to fill the gap in Nottingham Forest's versatile midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White.

The 23-year-old has been exceptional for Nottingham Forest, in fact, one could argue that he's been too good for Nottingham Forest and deserves to be playing at a club in the top half of the Premier League table.

Luke Edwards claims that Gibbs-White has been scouted extensively by Newcastle but concedes that a deal would be difficult to do in this window. However, funds unlocked by the Almiron sale should make things a bit easier for Newcastle.

Forest may be inclined to sell after breaching FFP rules

Gibbs-White has three goals and three assists in 22 appearances for Forest this season and has, according to Transfermarkt, played in five different positions in doing so which is the type of versatility that we need in our squad.

A right-footed right winger he could buck the trend of Eddie Howe playing with inverted wingers and would give Newcastle more to attack knowing that our right winger could fling a cross in with his right foot rather than cutting inside and looking to swing it in with his left, or passing back to the right-back. Not mentioning any names.

It'll likely be a costly affair to try and land Morgan Gibbs-White, but with Forest falling foul of FFP rules, they may be a bit more open to selling.
