Thomas Tuchel will today announce his first England squad after succeeding Gareth Southgate and it seems like the German is about to spring a surprise or two with his first selections.
Gareth Southgate stepped down as England boss after just missing out on the European Championships last summer. Under 21s boss Lee Carsley took over the reins on an interim basis while The FA found Southgate's successor.
During Lee Carsley's tenure, Newcastle United's Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall were called up alongside Anthony Gordon to represent their country, giving the England squad a nice black and white tinge.
Unfortunately, we'll now not know if Lewis Hall was in Tuchel's plans after his injury, but another Newcastle defender is set for his first ever call-up for England.
32-year-old Blyth lad, Dan Burn, who has been outstanding this season for Newcastle, is set to have his form recognised by Thomas Tuchel with a call up to represent his country.
Much like the Sela light show last night, this news broke late, but it didn't take long for it to sweep through the fanbase.
Dan Burn has been called up alongside Tino Livramento and Anthony Gordon as Tuchel announced his squad this morning.
Eddie Howe took a moment to praise Dan Burn in his pre-match press conference this morning.
"Yeah, incredible moment for Dan - and I have to say there's no one more deserving in my opinion. Starting to work with Dan when we did and came in obviously during our relegation battle, just such an inspiring lad, but also a very talented player.
"I think it's a great story really, and one of the great stories, one of the great comebacks. A dedicated professional, a leader, a real man."
Newcastle fans are absolutely buzzing for Dan Burn who, after a pretty difficult season last time around, getting consistently done for pace playing at left-back, has become an absolute rock at the back since moving to centre-back.
While far from the quickest player, Burn's ability to get back and make crucial blocks this season has been hugely impressive and it's great to see that being acknowledged by Thomas Tuchel.
Whether Burn gets any actual minutes we'll have to wait and see, but we'd love to see our nine-fingered peperami kitted out and playing for his country.
HE'S AWAY TO GET HIS CAP MEASURED! (Thanks, Giddy!)
