Never in my life has my opinion of someone changed so quickly and so massively than that of Anthony Gordon.

When Newcastle United signed the pacey winger from Everton part of me was thinking 'Oh no, not this lad'. Something about him just rubbed me the wrong way, he struck me as a cheat, a rat and bang average - I had no basis for this other than the fact he played for Everton and has one of those faces (sorry Anthony).

However, since he's signed for Newcastle and I've started to take notice of him on and off the pitch, I've come to realise that Anthony Gordon may just be one of the best of us - it's even changed his face.

From the day he arrived at the club he's proven himself to be one of the kindest, most caring and humble people. That last one is especially impressive given how driven and determined he is to be the best at what he does.

Anthony Gordon has shown his class many times since joining Newcastle

I'm sure we all remember that day that Gordon hopped in his car to visit a child in hospital in Manchester after his story gained traction on social media.

He absolutely didn't have to do that, and he certainly didn't have to go right away, but that's the measure of the man right there.

Recently, Gordon met a young girl named Ivy who has been diagnosed with hyper IGE syndrome. Gordon spent some time with the 5-year-old and asked her for a new goal celebration, promising to do it the next time he scored.

Anthony Gordon kept his promise to Ivy on Sunday

Keeping true to his word, Anthony Gordon wheeled out (pun intended) the cartwheel celebration after scoring his first goal for England on Sunday.

The broadcast cameras may have missed it but England's social media team have made sure the bring attention to it.

We bet Ivy wasn't expecting to see her celebration being played out at Wembley by an England star.
