The Premier League is on another two week break already even though it was just five minutes ago that we came back from the last one.

As much as we aren't fans of the international breaks, this one has come at a good time for Newcastle United who have a couple of big players out injured.

Callum Wilson has yet to kick a ball this season after picking up a back injury in the summer while Alexander Isak is nursing a broken toe leaving Eddie Howe with a big problem up front.

Thankfully, both are expected to be back in contention after this break, although we imagine it will take Wilson a while before he's fully fit.

We can't wait to see this lad back on the pitch

Eddie Howe is set for an injury boost in the next couple of weeks

In his fan Q&A for The Athletic, Chris Waugh has provided another injury update which could be huge news for Eddie Howe.

Young sensation Lewis Miley has not been seen this season after picking up a back injury on international duty at the end of the last campaign followed by a foot injury in the summer.

However, Chris Waugh has said that he believes Miley is also on course to be available after the international break.

Miley may not play for Newcastle for a while despite returning to training

Waugh made the point that while he may be back in training after the break, he's unlikely to be ready to actually feature for a while yet.

It has been a long layoff for Miley who Eddie Howe relied on more than he wanted to last season. With more midfielders fit and available this season, Howe has the option to treat Miley more carefully.

We hope we do get to see him back in action before too long to see if he can continue on that steep upward trajectory he'd set himself on last season.
