It's hardly news to anyone who reads our site regularly that we have a bit of a been in our collective bonnets over the media's apparent insistence that Newcastle United should just hand over Alexander Isak to Arsenal without fuss because then they can win the league.
We aren't sure what makes them believe that Newcastle don't deserve to have a player of Alexander Isak's incredible talent or why we should just bow down to Arsenal and hand-deliver him to the Emirates Stadium on a velvet cushion. It's aggravating, to say the least.
It's one thing for the media to be linking our best players with a move away, that's fine. Transfer speculation is a thing and we're sure that Crystal Palace fans were pretty sick of seeing our name mentioned whenever Marc Guehi popped up.
However, I don't think at any point it was said that Crystal Palace needed to step aside and let Newcastle help themselves. There was obviously things said about them constantly moving the goalposts when a deal looked near, but that's not the same.
Former The Times and The Telegraph writer, Henry Winter was on TalkSPORT today going over the back pages when he suddenly leapt atop his high horse and started throwing shade at Newcastle after The Telegraph reported that Newcastle have slapped a £150 million fee on Isak.
It's clearly a move by Newcastle to say he's not for sale, but if you come in with a ridiculous offer that's too good to turn down, maybe we'll talk.
Winter could not seem to grasp this way of thinking, calling it unreasonable and unfair but unable to justify who it was unfair to.
Thankfully, Newcastle had someone on their side with show host Shaun Custis who is a Newcastle fan trying to point out to Winter that what he was saying was insane, and again Winter brought it back to Arsenal with this gem:
"Say it is £150 million. Where does the negotiation start? Say if Arsenal, Arsenal should be interested because they need a centre forward, and their budget is £80 million for a top striker, where do you go with £150 million?"
That's the bloody point, Henry. What about this are you not getting you muppet? Honestly. If it was Arsenal slapping £150 million valuation on, say, Declan Rice in order to keep him at the club, you'd be applauding them. Absolute clown's shoe.
