Bruno Guimaraes and his Brazilian teammates are suffering a torrid time as last night's 1-1 draw with Colombia at the Copa America now means Brazil have won just once in their last seven competitive games.

Brazil had already qualified for the knock-out stages of the Copa America but a win over Colombia would have guaranteed them top spot in the group and a favourable tie against rank outsiders Panama.

Unfortunately, the draw meant that Brazil finished second and head into the knock-out stages with a fixture against in-form Uruguay awaiting them.

Newcastle target Raphinha grabbed Brazil's goal early on but they were pegged back by Crystal Palace's Daniel Munoz in first-half stoppage time.

Raphinha is enjoying himself at least

Raphinha's goal meant that he received the bulk of the plaudits, if indeed you can call them that as Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte handed out some harsh ratings.

With news coming out yesterday that Barcelona had accepted a £50.8million bid from Newcastle for Raphinha, it's good to see him doing well on the international stage with Globo handing him a rating of 7.5.

Bruno Guimaraes received the next highest rating but he's unlikely to be overly proud of it, nor will he be too happy to have once again found himself in the referee's book, although it doesn't seem like he will miss the next round as we were led to believe yesterday, so that's something.

The public were much less forgiving with their player ratings

Despite the low rating of 5.5, Globo's words on Guimaraes actually sounded rather complimentary.

“He made a dangerous shot from outside the area in the ninth minute of the first half. He distributed good passes (he made 44 of 49) and ran a lot to close spaces.

“In the final stage he made a lot of fouls and received a yellow card for stepping on James Rodríguez.”

The Shields Gazette have pointed out, however, that the Brazil fans were less than forgiving opting to give Bruno a shocking rating of 2.6/10.

We wonder if Ronaldinho is sticking to his plan of not watching Brazil at this tournament even after he back-pedalled and tried to say it was a publicity stunt.
