Alexander Isak's future at Newcastle United has been a constant source of speculation for months now, not helped by the fact that reported contract talks between him and the club have stalled.

Newcastle feel that they are well protected by Isak's current contract when it comes to transfers given that his existing deal runs until 2028. Isak is already one of the club's highest earners too, so there is not said to be any rush from the club's side to offer new terms.

Obviously, there will come a time when the club will probably have to offer the striker a new deal in order to prove how much they value him, but neither side is pushing for that just yet it seems.

Nor, Arsenal fans will be disappointed to hear, is Isak agitating for a move away from Newcastle.

Sky Sports journalist says he's heard Alexander Isak is loving it at Newcastle

Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge has confirmed as much to Give Me Sport saying that there's 'absolutely nothing' in the rumours suggesting Isak is looking to move away from Tyneside.

“In terms of Isak, it’s just an example of just how incredible they've done in the market, you know, Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali.

“And the message I get from people at Newcastle is that Isak’s going nowhere, and he's absolutely loving it there.

“He seems to be linked with every huge club at the moment, but there seems to be absolutely nothing on that.”

We were never in doubt. Honest.

We never suspected there was any truth to those rumours, but it's always nice to get that confirmation every now and then.

Isak has spoken about how much he's enjoying life at Newcastle recently, too, so it's not just Bridge making things up. Although let's be honest, Isak isn't exactly going to say in interviews that he hates it here, but we do feel he's being genuine.

Now he just needs to put last week's blank behind him and start bagging goals again starting at Southampton tomorrow.
