'You've got to do it': Rio Ferdinand insists Alexander Isak would guide Arsenal to a Premier League title

It has been a while since we've had a media muppet stick their oar in and insist that Alexander Isak is the answer to all of Arsenal's prayers without a single thought to Newcastle United.

Again, speculation is speculation; it generates clicks. We get it; we're in the same game, but a bit of balance would be nice. Use your headline or a provocative statement to generate interest, by all means, but for the love of Football, at least try and be fair.

Rio Ferdinand is the latest one to insist that Arsenal has to look at Alexander Isak this summer without even mentioning Newcastle United's name.

In fairness (see how we did that), Rio was prompted for a response, answering a direct question about whether Alexander Isak would guide Arsenal to a league title. In fact he was asked if he would guide them to winning the Champions League, to which Rio said no, but he will bring them the Premier League.

Hey, Rio, remember Newcastle United? We're the ones who currently own Alexander Isak's contract

Ferdinand admitted that Isak would likely cost the Gunners around £120 million, which again, isn't going to happen, but all he had to do was say something along the lines of "But Newcastle won't sell". Just give us a mention as a factor in why Arsenal won't sign him, rather than trying to make out that if Arsenal don't sign Isak it's because they didn't want to.

“Arsenal fans have been calling out for a No.9 for two or three years.

“If you can sign Isak, you’ve got to do it. I don't know about Champions League but they could win the league with him because he’s a phenomenal player and gives them something different.

“They’ve put so many good pieces in but they need that little extra now.”

Newcastle United can and likely will refuse any and all bids for Alexander Isak

Am I making mountains out of molehills again? Absolutely. I just get so hashtag triggered when Newcastle are left out of the conversation about Isak, as if we don't matter. Like we'd be powerless to stop him from leaving if a 'bigger' club came calling.

It probably wasn't even a conscious thing for Rio Ferdinand to not mention us, he was asked a direct question about Arsenal and Alexander Isak, but come on, do better.

At the end of the day, Arsenal might find that £120 million they're talking about and approach Newcastle with an offer, but we, as the ones who hold his contract, have the right to say 'No' and then it's done.

I'm off to do my breathing exercises now. Triggered AF.
