Newcastle United will be present in the pot for tonight's Carabao Cup second-round draw along with over a dozen more Premier League teams.
The Magpies will find out their opponents as they search for a second appearance at Wembley in three years.
With the first-round to conclude this evening, the 13 Premier League sides not involved in European football this season will enter the competition after receiving a bye.
The draw will take place at the conclusion of Middlesbrough vs Leeds on Sky Sports Football at around 10pm unless the game goes to penalties.
Tonight's draw sees Newcastle return to the second round of the cup following a season away due to their participation in the UEFA Champions League.
The draw is split into regional sections for this round, so the Magpies will have a short trip to a Northern opponent.
Following their exit last night, Newcastle will not be playing in another Tyne-Wear derby, but other local rivals Middlesbrough could feature should they advance tonight.
Second-round ties will take place on the week commencing 26th August.
The Magpies are yet to win the Carabao Cup, with their best performances coming in 1975/76 and 2022/23 where they finished runners-up.
Eddie Howe's side reached the quarter-finals last season after knocking out Manchester City and Manchester United before falling to Chelsea on penalties.
With an earlier entrance into the competition this season, the draw could be more favourable for Newcastle.
