What Joelinton did at full time as Newcastle United clocked their first win of Premier League season
Newcastle United finally registered their first win of the 2025/26 season at the fourth time of asking.
The Magpies have played well enough to win every game, but lacked the firepower up top to make it happen.
Enter the £69 million man, Nick Woltemade, who made his Newcastle debut at St James' Park on Saturday, rising to the occasion by powering in a 30th-minute header to give Newcastle the lead.
The final third bluntness continued on either side of that goal, but one goal was all it took to secure the three points on Saturday.
Joelinton made sure Nick Woltemade got the attention he deserved at full time
Woltemade had to come off just after the hour mark after saying he felt 'cramps' as the German adjusted to the pace of the Premier League, but the 6'6" striker was having a great game before he had to come off.
The team did their usual lap of honour at full-time, and Joelinton, being the legend that he is, made sure Woltemade got the accolades he deserved.
The Brazilian shoved the German to the front of the crowd to receive the adulation he so deserved, which prompted the fans to serenade their new hero with ‘Woltemade, Woltemade, Ole, Ole, Ole'.

Nick Woltemade has to be in the mix for Player of the Match
Nick Woltemade clearly loved his life yesterday, soaking up the applause on the pitch and beaming with pride in his post-match interviews.
Even taking to social media to post "Happy Nick. Happy Toon."
Nick Woltemade will have to keep up this form now, given the news about Yoane Wissa.
