After Troy Deeney made an odd call for his Newcastle United inclusion in his Team of the Week for the BBC we wondered if Alan Shearer would choose more than one Toon player after their mastermind win over Arsenal on Saturday.

We were stunned to see that Troy Deeney had gone with Anthony Gordon as his sole Newcastle selection in his Team of the Week. Not because we thought Gordon was in any way bad, I mean, his cross for Alexander Isak probably earned him his spot alone, but the full-back duo of Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall were the standout performers for many people.

Despite all the praise they received on the day, neither Tino nor Hall have made it into Alan Shearer's Team of the Week for the Premier League.

However, Shearer did select two Newcastle player in his TotW.

Shearer picked Sean Longstaff as one of his Team of the Week players

Shearer went with Newcastle's goal-scoring match winner, Alexander Isak and he was backed up by Lucky Charms himself, Sean Longstaff.

"Sean Longstaff (Newcastle)
"He left everything out on the pitch, running his heart out and dominating the midfield battle against Arsenal."
"Alexander Isak (Newcastle)
"His goal was a thing of beauty. He is finding his best form after returning from injury."

We can't believe WhoScored? had no Newcastle players in their TotW

Again, we can't really argue with his selections. Pretty much every Newcastle player on Saturday earned a spot in the Team of the Week except for Nick Pope who had nothing to do.

We are still shocked that Hall and Livramento have been overlooked, and that no Newcastle players made it into the WhoScored? Team of the Week which uses their rating system to fill out the team.

How Newcastle can have put in such a top performance and still not have a single player in their Team of the Week is crazy.
