Newcastle United were, to a man, fantastic on Saturday in the early kick-off against Arsenal. Every single player knew their role and executed the game plan.

At the end of game TNT Sport struggled to give just one player the Player of the Match award as they struggled to choose between Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall, eventually opting for Hall.

Hall also got the star man in our ratings by Rich, however, Tino got the nod in my post-match write-up. The pair were both phenomenal on the day.

However, neither have made it into Troy Deeney's Team of the Week for the BBC which is crazy to me. That being said, there was a Newcastle player in there.

Anthony Gordon made the BBC Team of the Week

Troy Deeney chose Anthony Gordon as Newcastle's sole representative in his Team of the Week

Instead, Deeney opted to select Anthony Gordon for his team. Playing on the right wing instead of his favoured left, Gordon had a good game and put in a '90s cross' for Alexander Isak to nod in the winner.

"Anthony Gordon (Newcastle): Newcastle are a better team when he is involved. He got an assist for Alexander Isak's winner against Arsenal, but the way he drives with the ball and carries the team forward means he's always a threat. He can be on the right, left or the middle - he's just a wonderful football player for Newcastle and England. Getting injured and then missing a penalty against Everton could have knocked his confidence but didn't. He's straight back on the horse, straight at it - I can respect that."

That was Gordon's second game in a row on the right with Joelinton on the left and we've won both games - surely that can't be a coincidence?

We feel slightly aggrieved that we only had one player in the TotW to show for our efforts

We're surprised that the Magpies only had one representative in the Team of the Week after Saturday's performance, but that's probably just our bias leaking through - and the fact that I didn't pay much attention to any of the other games this weekend.

We'll have to see if Alan Shearer's bias shows too when he does his Team of the Week for the Premier League.

Al won't let us down, will he?
