Troy Deeney has once again assembled his Team of the Week for the BBC and has included just one Newcastle United player in his XI.

If you've read our earlier story regarding Troy Deeney, or you watched Match of the Day 2, you'll not be shocked to discover who Deeney has picked from the Toon's crop of players.

Had Deeney had to make the call based on the first 45 minutes, we imagine there'd be more than just one Newcastle United player in his selection as the Magpies put in a commanding first-half performance against Nottingham Forest.

Unfortunately, the wheels came off in the second half, and only a couple of players kept up anything anywhere near the same levels.

Just the one Newcastle United player for Deeney

Lewis Miley was Troy Deeney's player of the weekend

Lewis Hall could half cause to feel aggrieved for missing out after three goal involvements and some rock-solid defending, but we can't argue with Deeney's selection of Lewis Miley.

"Lewis Miley (Newcastle): Player of the weekend. Yes, he scored against Forest but he was excellent. At 18 years old it was a coming-of-age performance - he was mature, kept the ball well and ran over people. He made a few mistakes but that was fine, he carried on going and didn't let anything affect him."

More huge praise for Miley from Deeney, who couldn't praise the 18-year-old enough on Match of the Day 2.

Who drops out to accommodate Sandro Tonali?

It's probably a bit much to say that Lewis Miley will keep Sandro Tonali out of the side, but he's a strong contender to fill that gap that's been left by Joelinton while the Brazilian recovers from his injury.

Joe Willock did well on Sunday and looked back to the Willock of old, but this season, he has been wildly inconsistent, and Miley could be a safer bet.

With Newcastle back in action on Wednesday night as they take on Liverpool at Anfield, we'll find out soon who will win the race for the starting XI.
