'Together': 31-year-old Newcastle man now issues rallying cry on social media after 'hard' defeat

Darkness has fallen on the day after the night before and with the hours that have passed, last night's decision hasn't gotten any easier to take.

Paris Saint-Germain were gifted a penalty deep into stoppage time at the end of the Champions League group game last night which Kylian Mbappe tucked away giving PSG a point against Newcastle United.

So much has been written about the decision today about how there's no way it was a penalty, but there's one other point that seems to have been completely missed and that is ... where did the referee get eight minutes of stoppage time from in the first place?

Onwards and upwards is the message

That's by the by now, what's done is done, we can't change it and that has pretty much been the message from everyone inside the club from Mehrdad Ghodoussi to Eddie Howe and the players.

Newcastle can still progress in the Champions League with a victory over AC Milan as long as Borussia Dortmund beat PSG, failing that there's the chance to drop into the Europa League, but we must pick up something against Milan at home first.

Newcastle can use this injustice as fuel to take on Manchester United

Hopefully, the players will channel their anger into their performance on Saturday night as Newcastle take on Manchester United at 8pm in the Premier League at St James' Park.

Like Chelsea who Newcastle hammered at the weekend, Manchester United's performances this season have been either brilliant or absolutely pants. We've already beaten them 3-0 in their own back garden with a very weak team, so we have nothing to fear from them.

If we can take this pent-up rage and convert it into a performance on Saturday we could make the Chelsea result look like a tough day at the office.
