Newcastle United return to action this afternoon as they face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in a 3pm kick-off.

Eddie Howe will be hoping his side can bounce back after a disappointing outing on Monday night which saw them on the wrong end of a 2-0 scoreline at St James' Park after West Ham performed the ultimate smash-and-grab.

However, as Magpie 24/7 pointed out on social media, the former Bournemouth boss has his work cut out for him.

Away form has never been Newcastle's strong suit, but there are some grounds which seem to have a bigger hold over the Magpies than others.

Selhurst Park has not been kind to Eddie Howe over the years

Selhurst Park seems to be a bit of a bogey ground for Eddie Howe having failed to win a game there since 2016 when he was Bournemouth boss.

That's six attempts without a win. Combined with Newcastle's already shoddy away record of 13 defeats in 25 games since the beginning of last season, that's a worrying combination.

However, all streaks come to an end at some point and there's no time like the present.

Neither side will be going into this game with a ton of confidence

With Palace sitting in the relegation zone, their confidence won't be where it should be, however, Newcastle may also be feeling shaky after the lesson dealt to them by the Hammers on Monday.

It's not hard to see why the pundits have predicted a draw for this one.

Let's prove 'em wrong, eh? HOWAY EDDIE HOWE'S SCARED TO BE AWAY FROM HOME MAGS!
