After the disappointment of Tuesday night, Newcastle United fans found their voices tonight as they roared their side on to a massive 4-1 win away at Everton.

The home side were diabolically poor, but Newcastle were outstanding to a man. It's not often we watch a match, even a strong win, and don't have anything to complain about, but honestly, we've got nothing this time around.

It was an accomplished performance by everybody on the pitch, and we can't even get too upset about conceding, as it was such a good finish by Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

In terms of the scoreline, it was a big win, but in terms of what this could now do for Newcastle's season, it was huge.

Phil Jagielka backs Newcastle to kick on after that win

It's Newcastle's first win away from home and their first back-to-back league wins of the season, and it could be the catalyst for the Magpies to start climbing back up that Premier League table.

Phil Jagielka certainly believes that Newcastle will soon find themselves back in the European race, as he said on Sky Sports at full-time.

"They [Newcastle] were thoroughly professional, there was a bit of outside noise as they are not where they want to be in the league, the players and manager will have known it

"But the only way to move up the table is to come to tough places like they have today and performed the way they did and pick up points.

"I have no doubts they will be up near the top six or eight in the league soon enough, but they need to start winning more away from home."

Newcastle are only four points off the top four

Newcastle are just four points behind bitter rivals Sunderland, who occupy fourth spot in the table, so it's not as big a task as it may look when you glance at the table.

Today's win saw Newcastle leap up to 11th place which, if you're a 'Big Six' side, is the top half of the table according to Sky Sports (if you know, you know).

Newcastle needed this win so much. We said before the game that it wasn't quite a 'must-win', but it was about as close as you could get, and win they did. We're so proud and absolutely buzzing.
