Sandro Tonali had another top performance in a black and white shirt on Saturday as it becomes clear that Newcastle United can get the best out of the Italian if he's deployed in the number six role.

There have been many discussions about where Sandro Tonali fits into Newcastle's side and whether he and Bruno Guimaraes can indeed play together in the same side.

We've seen glimpses of it, and yesterday brought full-blown confirmation. With Tonali in the number six and Bruno as a number eight, the two get to play their best games alongside each other.

Hopefully, it wasn't just a one-off, but there have been hints in the past that this is the system that could work.

Likely buoyed by all the rubbish coming from the Italian media lately that Tonali is unhappy or could be sold for PSR purposes, it seems the Milan faithful are still struggling to come to terms with the fact that their golden boy has moved on.

We've all been disappointed to see a player leave our club, but still insisting on him coming home after two years? Let it go.

Still, it amuses us and as long as it doesn't distract Tonali from putting in performances as good as yesterday's, we'll let them crack on.
