Bruno Guimaraes has worn a few different hats since his move to Newcastle United but now appears to have settled into one specific position.
When Bruno first arrived at Newcastle we were all led to believe he'd been brought in as a defensive midfielder but a glut of goals and assists had us all questioning what his best position actually is.
Indeed, Bruno tends to play a different role for his club than he does for his country, so what is Bruno's actual position?
It seems that even the man himself isn't sure, he's just happy to be doing his job.
Bruno Guimaraes has been speaking to Globo Esporte and he's talked about the various roles he's played for club and country.
"At Newcastle, I’ve been playing first, as a defensive midfielder for three years now and I’m fully adapted. I always do it at the club and it’s easier for me.
“Obviously, I can play as a number eight. I’ve played as a number 10 at Athletico and I feel good in any position in the middle.
“I feel comfortable as a number five, which is the role I’ve been playing here with the national team. I feel comfortable, I’ve been enjoying myself in the last few games, my level has improved a lot.”
While Bruno has now seemingly claimed that number six role as his own, that leaves the question - where does Sandro Tonali fit in for Newcastle?
Tonali had arguably his best game for Newcastle in the Carabao Cup win over Chelsea when he slotted into Bruno's position adding fuel to the fire that it's one or the other in the starting lineup.
The two have struggled to click as a partnership, but given the immense talent of both players, not having both on the pitch seems like a waste, so Eddie Howe has to find a way to utilise both in a way that suits both play styles.
We're sure it'll come in time, but we'd obviously prefer see it sooner rather than later.
