There is no doubt that Newcastle United are looking for a right-winger to improve the squad this summer, especially with Miguel Almiron heading for the exit whether he likes it or not.

Newcastle have been trying to move on Miguel Almiron since January but the Paraguayan is adamant he is happy at Newcastle and is digging his heels in over a move, but the club remains undeterred as they look for a deal for the 30-year-old winger.

As things stand, Newcastle's right-wing options are Miggy and Jacob Murphy, neither are really Premier League title-chasing quality, with the best will in the world, and bringing in a quality player to fill that role is a priority for Eddie Howe this summer.

While the Magpies continue to be linked with Barcelona and former Leeds United ace Raphinha, it's a current Leeds player who is most often being linked with a move to Tyneside.

Crysencio Summerville scored 20 goals for Leeds last season

Newcastle will face competition from Liverpool for Summerville

Newcastle are said to be among several clubs, including Liverpool, who are keen on Leeds United's Crysencio Summerville who is likely to want a move after Leeds failed to bounce back to the Premier League.

Described by journalist Jake Winderman as 'world class', Summerville bagged 20 goals for Leeds last season along with nine assists and is expected to be available for just £30million.

It may take some graft to beat Liverpool to the punch but Ben Jacobs has told Give Me Sport that Newcastle are 'ones to watch'.

Newcastle could be one to watch for Crysencio Summerville

"We obviously also know that Newcastle were one of the clubs that approached for Michael Olise, which sort of shows you that they're looking for that wide, creative, minded player. And although the cost of Olise was too high for Newcastle to proceed, there'll be other options on the market that I'm sure Newcastle feel are within their budget.

"Crysencio Summerville could be one to watch, although no approach has yet been made to Leeds United."

It seems there's a long way to go and some strong competition, but this has ben a link that has refused to go away this summer, so there could be some truth to it.
