Newcastle United have possibly peaked when it comes to having the worst injury-hit season in Premier League history.

With so many players having been out with long-term injuries at various points of the season, not to mention losing two centre-backs to ACL injuries within a month, it only makes sense that the curse should find its way to non-playing staff.

The Daily Mail has reported that goalkeeper coach Shwan Jalal suffered 'serious damage' to his knee while on the team's recent trip to Dubai.

It's just a matter of time before Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall are pulled up with something or other.

"What on Earth is going on at Newcastle? We don't know either!"

A review of Newcastle's medical practices is underway

With the coaching staff also picking up serious knee injuries, there really needs to be a deep inquest into what's going on at the club.

All of these injuries can't be a coincidence, especially with so many of them being so similar in nature.

The report in the Daily Mail does state that a review is underway.

Fortunately, Newcastle operate with two goalkeeper coaches

In the meantime, Adam Bartlett will double his workload and look after all the goalkeepers while Jalal recovers, which is expected to take until pre-season at least.

Bartlett will soon see his workload increase as Nick Pope is due back from his shoulder injury this month.

This season, though ... you couldn't make it up, could you?
