Nottingham Forest have been slapped with a four-point deduction after being found guilty of breaching the Premier League's Financial Fair Play rules and Newcastle United could look to take advantage.

We said yesterday that Newcastle should raid Forest for Anthony Elanga and Morgan Gibbs-White this summer as Forest have been told to balance their books in the wake of their punishment.

Now The Daily Mail has linked the Magpies with another Forest player in the form of 21-year-old Brazilian defender Murillo.

Other clubs potentially interested in the young centre-back are Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

Newcastle are keen on 21-year-old Murillo

Murillo has impressed at Forest this season

Murillo joined Forest for around £15million last summer arriving from Corinthians and has impressed in his 23 appearances in the Premier League this season despite Forest's struggles.

Now with the need to sell players a necessity, the club will struggle to keep their best players at the club, especially if that four-point deduction results in a relegation from the Premier League.

Newcastle need defensive reinforcements this summer with centre-back an area of concern. Newcastle can't go into next season with just four first-team centre-backs like we did this season, especially if one of those is being deployed at left-back.

Forest will be looking for a decent profit on any sale of Murillo

Competition is going to be fierce for Murillo's signature with top clubs around Europe monitoring his situation. They'll all be on high alert now following this week's news.

Nottingham Forest can expect to make a decent profit on Murillo should they sell him this summer, and that will reduce the need for them to see their other big stars leave the City Ground, but as we said before, a lot will depend on whether they can now beat the drop.

After buying an entirely new squad upon gaining promotion to the Premier League, Forest actually have some decent players who could find themselves making a good step up this summer, let's just hope Newcastle are in the queue for a couple of their stars who could be available for a knock-down price. Shop smart!
