Newcastle United have a tough call to make this summer around 19-year-old winger Yankuba Minteh who is currently doing very well for Feyenoord.

The young Gambian signed for Newcastle in the summer and was immediately loaned out to Dutch champions Feyenoord for the season where he's gone on to score six goals in the Eredivisie and he's even scored in the Champions League.

Minteh's latest goal came on Sunday as Feyenoord drew with league leaders PSV. Minteh stole the ball from a defender as PSV tried to play out from the back, the 19-year-old coolly rounded the keeper and guided the ball into the back of the net.

Newcastle fans were cooing over Minteh on Sunday after his latest Feyenoord goal

X was awash with Newcastle fans salivating at the prospect of Minteh featuring for Eddie Howe's side in the Premier League next season.

Now iNews are reporting that it's more likely that Minteh will be loaned out for another season to continue his development with Feyenoord keen to secure his services for another season.

Newcastle could also look to loan Minteh to a Championship side to help him adapt to the English game before he is unleashed onto the Premier League.

Good things come to those who wait

This will come as a bit of a blow to fans who were hoping to see Minteh in action for Newcastle next season, but we'd rather the club gets it right and develops him into a great player rather than shattering his confidence by putting him in against Premier League opposition too soon.

Minteh will likely have his chance to impress in pre-season before a decision is made, so there's still hope for him yet.

We can't wait to see Yankuba MInteh in action for Newcastle, but we can definitely wait another season if that's deemed to be the best move for him.
