Newcastle United are getting prepared for a busy summer after this hectic campaign comes to a close later this month.

The Magpies are still in the hunt for a European spot but Chelsea have suddenly come out of nowhere and seem like a real threat to their chances.

Whether or not Newcastle pick up European football next season will have a huge bearing on the type of transfer business they can do this summer, but fortunately it won't be the be-all and end-all for every target.

Reports have been linking Newcastle with a huge interest in Fulham's Tosin Adarabioyo who will leave the Cottagers at the end of this season and become a free agent.

Tosin Adarabioyo could be tempted to work with Eddie Howe

Newcastle have the secret weapon in the pursuit of Adarabioyo

Early indications are positive for Eddie Howe that Adarabioyo is open to a move to Newcastle, with recent reports claiming it was all but done before further claims emerged suggesting that Tottenham would be his preferred destination.

It's clear that nobody really knows Tosin's next move yet, but The Daily Mail reckon that Eddie Howe could be the reason the 26-year-old defender chooses Newcastle.

"Adarabioyo is said to be aware of how Newcastle would see his role at St James’ Park and, according to sources, he could be leaning towards a move to the North-East, especially given the prospect of working under a coach like Eddie Howe."

Newcastle need to demonstrate their commitment to the project

Newcastle are also keen on signing Lloyd Kelly who is in a similar situation at Bournemouth, bringing in two Premier League talents for free would be a huge step in the right direction for Newcastle's summer recruitment.

There are a lot of positions so strengthen ahead of next season but thanks to Profit and Sustainability Rules, not a lot of money for Newcastle to play with, so it's little surprise that Howe is looking at players who are out of contract or have expiring deals.

The more deals like that Newcastle can do, the more money we'll have left to spend on a statement signing that will show the likes of Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak how serious the club is about achieving its goals, and thus giving them that comfortability to stay around beyond next season.
