BBC pundit Chris Sutton has taken a crack at predicting the outcome of Saturday's Premier League clash between Newcastle United and Arsenal.

The two sides come into this fixture off the back of contrasting fortunes in the Carabao Cup in midweek with Newcastle progressing to the quarter-finals and Arsenal being dumped out.

However, the Premier League is a different animal altogether and both sides will likely be fielding very different teams to the ones that competed on Wednesday.

Newcastle's record against Arsenal isn't the best

Newcastle have the home advantage but the historical head-to-head is very much in Arsenal's favour so it's going to be a tough one to call.

Newcastle v Arsenal - Saturday 4th November - Kick-off: 5:30pm

Newcastle have that famous win at St James' Park at the end of our takeover season and if we can replicate that atmosphere then Arsenal will struggle.

Although Chris Sutton doesn't think so as he his prediction on the BBC website has Arsenal emerging victorious.

Sutton questions Arteta's tactics then backs him for the win?

"Newcastle's third team beat Manchester United in the EFL Cup on Wednesday, and the whole club will be buoyed by that result.

"In the same competition, I found it really odd that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta waited until his side were 3-0 down to West Ham before bringing on Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Martin Odegaard.

"Was he really expecting them to turn the game around? Either play them from the start or bring them on when they are 1-0 down. Both sides will be back to full strength on Saturday and I am expecting this game to be really close.

"There won't be many goals, but I just have a sneaking feeling that Arsenal will take the points.

"Sutton's prediction: 0-2"

We're just glad we don't do score predictions of our own as we absolutely cannot call this one, it's definitely a game that could go either way but maybe 0-2 is a bit harsh from Sutton.
